Heavyweight champion Joseph Parker has been confirmed as guest speaker for Tararua's sports awards ceremony next month.
Parker will step on stage at the 2015 Tararua Alliance Sports Awards on Friday, October 16, at the Dannevirke Town Hall.
The fighter is unbeaten in 15 fights, 13 through knockouts, since he began his professional career in 2012.
The awards, co-ordinated by Sport Manawatu, aim to celebrate the achievements of local sports teams, administrators, volunteers, coaches, officials as well as senior and junior sports contributors in the Tararua District.
Tickets are now on sale for $45 and include the awards ceremony, dinner and the opportunity to hear Parker.
