The parents of murdered German backpacker Birgit Brauer have walked in their daughter's footsteps to appreciate the country she loved.
Knut and Anne-Marie Brauer returned to Germany this week, having spent three weeks in the North Island as guests of the Rotary Club.
Rodney Wong, Rotary district governor for the lower North Island, said the retired couple were grateful for the sympathy they received during the visit.
