KEY POINTS:
The parents of a young boy twice taken to hospital with broken bones have lost their bid to keep their name secret.
The couple, aged 27 and 29, appeared in Waitakere District Court today charged with wilfully neglecting their 18-month-old son.
However, Judge Philip Recordon said their names could not be published until Monday afternoon to give them time to consider a High Court appeal and to allow time to tell members of their wider family.
The couple was charged on Monday after a police investigation into the broken bones their child had when taken to Auckland's Starship Children's Hospital.
The infant was admitted on June 23 with a broken thigh and broken arm which doctors believe happened up to 10 days earlier.
The couple was due to appear again on August 30.
