A man who was injured in a swimming accident has launched a fundraising campaign to get overseas surgery in a bid to walk again.
Ephraim Gudgeon, 24, was injured jumping from a waterfall on Waitangi Day this year and lost the use of his legs.
"I just didn't land right," he said.
"I still try to move my legs now and then and I've had a little bit of luck."
Gudgeon had been married to his wife Arian for just a few months when he was injured and had to spend two months recovering in a spinal unit in Auckland.
