A paraglider has been injured in a crash near Glenorchy this afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said emergency services were called to the scene, near Kinloch, just after 1pm.
St John spokeswoman Noreen Hegarty said a rescue helicopter was deployed from Te Anau and arrived at 3.05pm.
A paramedic on the helicopter was working to "locate and assess" an injured paraglider.
The initial reports were two people were paragliding and one crashed on a steep hill.
