A paraglider has crashed into Godley Head by Lyttelton Harbour this afternoon.
Inspector Rick Drury says police were informed of the incident by ambulance officers just before midday. He says the man involved was taken to hospital by helicopter.
Lyttelton police will be investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, police attended another incident in Lyttelton Harbour just after 2pm.
The collision, which took place on Governor's Bay Teddington Rd, involved a motorcycle and a car.
One ambulance and a Westpac Rescue Helicopter attended the scene.
A woman was flown to Christchurch Hospital Emergency Department with moderate injuries.
