Organisers of the Carterton Christmas Parade say Saturday's event was bigger and better than ever before.
Rotary club member Bill Knowles, who belongs to a committee which organises the parade each year, said the parade was exceptional with Wairarapa-wide support and big crowds.
"I believe we had 34 floats booked, and we finished up with 36 or 37. We had two bands, a big group of motorbikes came through - I was told about 300 of them - and good support from schools."
Mr Knowles said the security Father Christmas is given during the parade, resulting from a water-bombing incident several years ago, did not need to be called into action this year.
Masterton's Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, and Featherston and Greytown parades on December 15.
