Paper pays compensation over fabricated stories 

The Herald on Sunday has agreed to pay compensation to former police officer Anthony Solomona over two fabricated stories.

His lawyer, John Haigh, QC, said yesterday that the unnamed sum was in addition to an apology and retraction printed on Sunday.

The paper fired the reporter concerned, John Manukia.
