A family was left homeless after a fire destroyed their house yesterday. Three fire crews were sent to the Panmure home after multiple 111 calls were made about midday. Firefighters were initially told that one occupant was still inside the burning home, but it was later found to be empty. The Housing New Zealand home was destroyed. Firefighters said the fire most likely began in electrical wiring.
