Palmerston North police hunt rapist

Palmerston North police are still hunting a man who raped a teenager early on New Year's Day.

Detective Sergeant Tim Smith said the 17-year-old was walking through Milverton Park between 1am and 2am when she was attacked.

Mr Smith said police were interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen a caucasian woman with blonde hair, dressed in black jeans, a black hooded jacket with fur lining and high heels, or a stocky caucasian man with short hair, dressed in jeans and a black dress shirt.

Police were especially keen to see any external video surveillance footage from businesses on Princess and Ferguson Streets.
