Two people who faced nearly 100 serious drugs charges involving methamphetamine and cannabis have pleaded guilty before the start of their trial.
Alison Clunie, 47, and Ike Kingi, 32, of Whangarei were among 18 people arrested by police in June 2010 during Operation Arabia, a major drug bust in the city.
Clunie was charged with 76 counts of mostly conspiracy to supply methamphetamine and one of offering to sell cannabis between December 2009 and June 2010 in Whangarei.
She pleaded guilty to 37 charges before Justice Pamela Andrews in the High Court at Whangarei yesterday.
Police laid 19 charges of offering to supply methamphetamine against Kingi and he pleaded guilty to seven charges.
