Police will today interview two men following the alleged sexual assault on a young woman in central Hamilton at the weekend.
The 23-year-old woman told police she was drinking in a bar when she was led into a car against her will by two men between 1.30am and 3.15am on Sunday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton said it was believed the woman was taken to a service lane behind the Arcadia Building on Worley Place where she was raped by both men before managing to make her escape.
Mr Thornton said today police would be speaking to two men who would hopefully shed light on what happened.
A car had also been located and would be the subject of a forensic examination today.
"Though our inquiries are continuing we are not looking for anyone else in relation to this matter and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people who came forward with information to assist us getting to this point."
