Two armed men who allegedly robbed a Masterton couple made off with an AC/DC compact disc, police say.
Armed police were called in to help execute search warrants in Masterton yesterday during which two men were arrested and a sword and machete seized.
As a result of the search PeterTapine, 37, presser, of Masterton and Jackson Huata, 47, unemployed of Masterton, appeared in the Masterton District Court before Justice of the Peace John Bunny and were remanded in custody to appear again on November 8.
They were charged with robbery at a Masterton house on October 20 while armed with an offensive weapon, being a sword.
The charge alleges the two men robbed a Masterton couple of an AC/DC compact disc.
Neither Tapine nor Huata entered a plea and were represented by duty solicitor Peter Stevens.
The armed police who helped take the two accused into custody were on hand as three different addresses were searched in Masterton and the officer-in-charge of the operation, Detective Senior Sergeant Barry Bysouth, said everything had gone to plan.
