Two men have appeared in the Hastings District Court in relation to a sexual assault reported earlier this year in Cromwell.
The 21-year-old man and a 29-year-old man were jointly charged with
abduction, sexual violation, injuring during the commission of a crime, and
impeding breathing.
They were granted name suppression and remanded in custody until next month. No pleas were entered.
Police arrested the men in Hastings on Wednesday after investigating the attack which was alleged to have taken place on Feburary 3 in Central Otago.
The assault reportedly occurred on the lakefront near old Cromwell town.
