KEY POINTS:
The woman who died after she lost control of her car on State Highway Two, south of Pahiatua, has been named by police.
She was 39-year-old Rachel Frances Van-Der-Weil of Eketahuna and the only person in the car.
The Pahiatua Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the green Nissan driven by Mrs Van-Der-Weil as she headed north between Eketahuna and Pahiatua before 1pm yesterday.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
They are also investigating a second crash that happened soon after Mrs Van-Der-Weil died.
A member of the Pahiatua volunteer fire brigade was injured by a car that backed into her while she was setting up a road diversion. She was taken to hospital by ambulance with an ankle injury.
