A paddle boarder who died this morning after getting into trouble near Wenderholm Regional Park has been named.
Joanne Rachel Dening, 35, a UK national, died after the incident in Waiwera, north of Auckland.
Police were notified about a woman, now known as Dening, getting into trouble around 11.20am and she was pulled from the water but revival attempts were unsuccessful.
In a statement, police said emergency services are supporting the family following the "tragic" incident.
