More than 100 workers are due to picket a Porirua packaging company today in pursuit of a pay rise.
Workers at Cryovac Sealed Air Ltd will picket the company's Porirua factory at midday today, Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union (EPMU) organiser Mark James said.
The workers recently voted unanimously to take strike action after pay talks with the company reached an impasse.
The company had refused to offer more than a 2 per cent pay rise for the next 12 months, Mr James said.
A Cryovac spokesman was unaware of the picket and said pay negotiations were resuming on Thursday.
Union members would withdraw strike action tomorrow, the spokesman said.
Mr James confirmed the picket would going ahead.
