An Air Force Orion is continuing its search for from a burned-out boat in the Pacific off Kiribati. The Orion left Samoa at 6am yesterday to cover another third of the 54,000sq km search area. It will cover the remaining search area today before the search is re-evaluated. Orion captain Squadron Leader Mike Pearson said the search was one of the toughest missions his experienced crew had been tasked to do, because of the absence of a rescue beacon to target.
