Equipment and chemicals used to make methamphetamine were found in the Bay of Plenty with the help of a concerned member of the public.
Police today said after receiving a call from someone, they were able to locate two plastic containers of equipment and chemicals in Chadwick Street reserve, Gate Pa, Tauranga.
Detective Senior Sergeant Liam Clinton said "thanks to the vigilance of this member of the public, a possible clan lab will be out of action".
"Drugs, and methamphetamine in particular, have far-reaching and harmful effects on our community, and every other community nationwide," Mr Clinton said.
"Not only from their production and use, but from other types of crime linked to them, such as burglary, car theft, intimidation and serious violence."
A forensic team would be examine the containers and their contents, and people with any information on drug offending were encouraged to contact police.
