KEY POINTS:
Drug squad detectives have put another Christchurch methamphetamine laboratory out of business.
Two men were arrested on unrelated drug charges after the illicit lab was found near a school in suburban Bishopdale on Wednesday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Brian Archer, of the Christchurch drug squad, said today the pair were likely to face further charges relating to manufacturing methamphetamine, or P, at their next court appearance.
The house where the laboratory was discovered was close to a school, but there was no need for pupils to be evacuated. Police national clandestine drugs laboratory squad members from Wellington examined the house yesterday.
"Preliminary indications from test results are that methamphetamine manufacturing was occurring or had occurred at the house," Mr Archer told NZPA today.
He said the Christchurch drug squad was concentrating on methamphetamine manufacturing and was "pleased to put another lab out of business".
