A man who perished in a blaze in a garage being used as a suspected P lab yesterday has still to be identified.
The man was dead when firefighters wearing breathing apparatus got into the garage in the Auckland suburb of Onehunga yesterday morming.
Police refused to confirm the garage on Paihia St was an illegal methamphetamine lab but firefighters were washed down in portable showers after extinguishing the blaze.
A post mortem was due to be held today and police said they hoped to identify the man later today and release his name.
It is a woman who living in a house adjoining the garage was treated for minor injuries by ambulance staff.
