A man involved in selling Class A drugs to an undercover police officer on four occasions pleaded guilty to a raft of indictable charges when he appeared in the Whakatane District Court yesterday.
Watene Paul McClutchie, 37, admitted four charges of possession of methamphetamine for supply, four charges of supplying methamphetamine, one of offering to supply LSD, one of offering to supply Ecstasy and two of offering to sell cannabis. He also pleaded guilty to a summary laid charge of possession of ammunition.
Judge Peter Rollo suggested to McClutchie he should wait until he had spoken to his assigned lawyer from Rotorua before entering the pleas however he could not be persuaded to wait.
"We're talking about a pretty long stretch of prison, Mr McClutchie," Judge Rollo said.
McClutchie said he fully understood that and accepted the police summary of facts.
