Bluff oyster boat skippers reported a tough day's dredging in the Foveaux Strait beds yesterday, but the delicacy still went on sale last night.
The first boat back after conditions worsened had five sacks on deck. The second boat managed 25 sacks after 12 hours in the strait.
Catch rates were likely to be low throughout the commercial season, which runs until August 31.
