Gold rings, watches and bracelets are all items in a stash of stolen jewellery now in the hands of police who are keen to find the owners.
The items were found when police stopped a car after observant neighbour in Kensington called police when they noticed a man acting suspiciously in their street.
A registration plate number led police to a vehicle which was stopped in Otangarei a short time later.
Constable Andrew Hunter said a 35-year-old man was arrested and charged with burglary.
And while they were able to return some jewellery, there was more they were still searching for the owners.
