The man who owned two pitbull dogs that attacked three people in south Auckland last Saturday has admitted six charges in court today.
Nicholas Moke 36, unemployed, appeared in Papakura District Court in relation to unregistered and dangerous dogs.
The pitbulls were destroyed after attacking eight-year-old Jackson Williams, his aunt Joanne Waerea and 15-year-old girl Te Aroha Pakuivi in Takanini.
The boy was dragged to the ground by the dogs and bitten several times on the leg before passers-by were able to rescue him. Te Aroha was bitten once on the leg.
Jackson required several stitches for deep puncture wounds and was kept in hospital overnight.
Police said Moke had co-operated since the attack and had voluntarily handed over the dogs to be destroyed.
He was remanded on bail by Judge Merelina Burnett to be sentenced on June 8.
She ordered an emotional harm report on the three victims and ordered him not to have any dogs on his property.
