Private education lobby groups are angry at Government plans to boost the levy they pay to protect overseas students whose schools suddenly close.
Education Minister Trevor Mallard yesterday tabled the Education (Export Education Levy) Amendment Bill in Parliament. If passed it will raise the levy against private training establishments from 0.45 per cent of international student tuition fees to 0.7 per cent.
