Overdue yachties safe and well

An overdue yacht was found this morning in Auckland's Hauraki Gulf with a man and his two teenage sons aboard.

The 5.5m trailer sailor 'Tardis' was last night reported a week overdue in the Gulf.

It had last been seen on January 4 at Moturekareka Island, south of Kawau Island.

The vessel was found just before 9.30 this morning in Tryphena Harbour, Great Barrier Island, by police who had heard it was missing.

The yachties were safe and well.
