A 61-year-old tramper who failed to return from a day walk on the Kapiti Coast yesterday has walked out of the bush safe and well.
Five teams of search and rescue staff -- including the man's wife who owns a search-trained dog -- had gone into the hills south of the Otaki Gorge today to look for the Paremata man.
However, police said he had walked out to a house in the Waikanae area late this morning and was in good health.
