Overdue tramper found with mild hypothermia

A tramper reported missing in the Mt Lyford area of North Canterbury has been found.

The 30-year-old was lightly dressed when he went tramping early yesterday morning, police said. He was reported overdue in light rain about 6pm.

However, the man was located by a search and rescue team about 9pm suffering mild hypothermia.

He was taken to Mt Lyford Lodge.

No further details were available.
