There is no news yet on the long-term replacement for Radio New Zealand's Morning Report co-host Sean Plunket, who signed off this morning after 14 years with the show.
More than 80 people from New Zealand and abroad had applied for the position, and in the meantime Radio NZ would run its usual roster of replacements to co-host the show alongside Geoff Robinson until an appointment is made, said communications manager John Barr.
Todd Niall will see out the rest of this week.
Mr Barr said Radio NZ was in the process of shortlisting the applicants for the co-host position.
It was going through a "thorough and rigorous" selection process and the replacement roster would run for as long as it took to find the right person, he said.
"We are going to take our time to make sure we get the best person."
Plunket is joining Newstalk ZB, replacing the retiring Justin du Fresne as Wellington talkback host, and will start in January.
He also has a new job presenting TV3`s weekend political show The Nation as well as writing a column for monthly Metro magazine.
