Over 4000 repeat drink drivers caught

The number of repeat drunken drivers being caught on New Zealand roads is growing. More than 4000 recidivists have been prosecuted already this year.

Official figures reveal 7200 people were convicted of their third or more drunken driving offence last year.

The corresponding number for 2008 was 6995, and in 2007 there were 6639 cases of people on their third conviction.
