Outrageous Fortune star guilty of drink driving

Outrageous Fortune star Tammy Davis, who plays Munter in the New Zealand TV comedy, has been found guilty of drink driving.

Davis, who plays Munter on the hit TV show, was found to have been driving at nearly twice the legal limit in March this year.

He was caught at the Newton on-ramp going onto the Northwestern Motorway.

At a defended hearing at the Auckland District Court, Judge Hole said Davis had tried to defend the charge when he had no defence for it.

Davis's reading was 798 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath.

The legal limit is 400.

He's been suspended from driving for a year and given a $1600 fine.

Davis lost an appeal for name suppression.

Outside court he said he knew what he'd done was wrong.
