Wairarapa-Bush are aiming to prove size doesn't necessarily matter at the 2012 McDonald central zone age group rugby tournament that gets under way in Wanganui tomorrow.
Their under-11 and under-13 teams have been selected from fewer players than available to their opposition, Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wanganui, but past history indicates they can rise to the challenge; the under-13s having taken the spoils in 1995 and the under-11s in 1994.
No overall successes have been achieved since then but they have come close on at least a couple of occasions.
Co-coaches of the under-11s are Kerry McGhie and Jeremy Sargent and directing operations on the field of play will be skipper Logan Wakefield and his deputy, Keiran Andrews-Paul.
The under-13s are coached by Blaine Smith and Mike Wakefield and have Logan Allen as captain and Roco Berry as vice-captain.
