Voting in the 2013 local body elections doesn't just mean choosing who you would like as mayor.
You also vote for who you want as representatives on the Greater Wellington Regional Council, the Wairarapa District Health Board and local trusts.
Greater Wellington Regional Council - Wairarapa
There is one representative for Wairarapa on the Greater Wellington Regional Council.
The council is made up of 13 regional councillors, representing the six areas of the Wellington region.
It manages environmental resources, flood control, air and water quality and pest control.
It also deals with public transport, regional parks and bulk water supply.

Greytown District Trust Lands Trust
The trust owns and manages property on a commercial basis and gives grants to the community.
There are three spots up for grabs and nine candidates this year:

Masterton Licensing Trust
The Masterton Licensing Trust is 75 per cent owner of Trust House which owns many pubs, liquor outlets and other businesses in the Wairarapa and greater Wellington region.
It also has over 517 rental properties for low-income earners and gives out grants to the community.
There are nine candidates vying for six spots:

Montfort Trimble Foundation
This is a charitable trust that owns Rewanui Forest Park and is dedicated to growing trees to benefit the public.
Two candidates are appointed to the trust by Masterton District Council.

Masterton Trust Lands Trust
The trust owns $58 million worth of commercial land and buildings including rental properties.
It also gives out grants to the community.

Wairarapa District Health Board
The DHB's role is to decide on the mix, level and quality of health and disability services to be publicly funded in Wairarapa.
It then enters into agreements with providers for the delivery of those services.
It is also responsible for funding the delivery of health services by providers such as GPs, Maori and Pacific groups, pharmacies, laboratories, dental services, disability services and mental health providers, as well as our hospital and community services.
There are seven spots on the board and thirteen candidates.
All of the current DHB members are running again.
