Otahuhu hit-and-run driver sought

A hit-and-run driver who killed an elderly South Auckland man was still on the run last night.

Tuporo Taporo, 67, of Otara, died in hospital after he was knocked down by a car on the corner of Atkinson Ave and Gordon Rd in Otahuhu shortly after 7pm on Tuesday.

Police have recovered the vehicle and know who the driver is but he has yet to be found.
