Otago linesman killed in pole collapse named

Police today named a 63-year-old linesman killed when the power pole he was working on collapsed in central Otago.

Roger Allan Steel, from Alexandra, died yesterday while working near the Millenium Track, Millers Flat, Sergeant Andy Reed of Alexandra police said.

His death has been referred to the coroner.

Police and the Department of Labour were investigating.
