A week on from the southerly blast which dumped upwards of a metre of snow, Otago farmers are still digging their way out.
There's been a big rescue operation over the past few days across Central Otago, looking for lost and stranded stock.
While most of the snow has thawed along the coast, it's lingering inland because of heavy frosts.
Otago Rural Support coordinator David Mellish says while there's still plenty of snow around, the storm hasn't hit farmers too hard.
"Definitely not like the snow event of Southland, Otago in 2010 when it was a much lower level and it was lambing time. It's not like that this one.''
