OSH is investigating after a worker on a construction site near Wanaka got his arm caught in the blades of an earthscraper.
St John Wanaka manager Don McMillan says the man suffered lacerations, nerve and soft tissue damage, and a crushed thumb on his right arm.
He was airlifted to Dunedin Hospital.
The man was trying to free a rock that was forcing open the blades of the earthscraper, when the doors closed on his arm.
He was working on a new housing development at Luggate.
