ORCHARD LEADING HAND
Silvan Orchards and Packhouse is a family owned operation producing and packing apples and pears for export and the local markets. This is a permanent, full time position for an experienced orchard leading hand that is physically fit, enthusiastic, self motivated, driven and passionate about fruit production.
The successful applicant must have proven experience in all general orchard duties. The work will include all aspects of growing fruit e.g. pruning, spraying, harvest, packhouse supervision, maintenance of structures and machinery and you must be able to work extra hours as the season dictates.
Skills and attributes required.
• Hold a current Growsafe Certificate (an advantage)
• Have the ability to supervise and co-ordinate staff
• Experienced forklift operator (current osh licence an advantage)
• Experienced horticultural operator with mechanical aptitude
• Reliable and physically fit
• Heavy traffic licence (an advantage)
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
