The Orams Boat Park in Westhaven will hold its second open day on Saturday, August 27, following last year's popular inaugural event which attracted many Auckland powerboat owners.
"They came to see why so many of their fellow boaties choose to keep their boats here and to take advantage of our special introductory offers," operations manager Jeff Botherway says.
There will also be displays of the latest models from top boat manufacturers such as Rayglass, Haines Hunter, Tristram, Smuggler, Atomix and Sea Ray. "Fractional boat ownership companies will again be on site, as will various service specialists and tenants from the Orams Marine Village," Botherway says.
"For those who like what they see there will again be a strong incentive to become a boat park member - for new members the first month's rent on a 12-month contract will be free."
Those who register their interest will go into the draw to win a $100 voucher from Orams fuel depot, hamper bags and corporate gifts.
Botherway believes those who attend will find that there are many benefits in keeping their boats at Orams.
"Because the boats are all stored under cover in an area with plenty of fresh air flow they remain in far better condition than if they were simply sitting in a driveway or on a lawn," he says. "We also help them to keep looking good by always waterblasting the hulls before putting them away.
"We also make it easy for owners to keep their boats spick and span, with plenty of fresh-water hoses and electrical outlets on the marinas and even a completely set up fish-filleting table close at hand."
Botherway says the Boat Park staff pride themselves on being able to get boats into the water within an hour of being asked to do so, even at the height of the summer season.
The Boat Park is able to cater for powerboats from 4m to 12m and up to 11 tonnes.
Botherway says members also have free access to undercover parking and to the hospitality lounge, and receive a discount on fuel from the adjacent Orams fuel depot.
"There are also work berths and qualified mechanics on site and a wide range of services, such as upholsterers, engineers and painters, next door in the Orams Marine Village."
The open day will run from 9am until 3pm and boat park staff will be on hand to show visitors around and answer questions.
There will also be a paddleboarding display, a team from the Coastguard and a free sausage sizzle.
