Strewth mate, the Advertising Standards Authority reckons it's a fair go to make fun of the Aussies.
A complaint was made to the authority that a Mitre 10 television ad "was racist towards Australians".
The ad showed two boys in a sandpit planning a weekend construction job, when one asks a third boy - wearing an Australian rugby jersey - for "a hand on Saturday".
When the response in an Australian accent is, "Mate, you're dreamin'," the two boys shrug, with one of them saying:
"Aussies. No surprise there." The authority chairman rejected the complaint.
