Entertainers of almost every stripe have been invited to take the stage on Wednesday evenings at The Clareville Bakery Open Mic Night.
Owner Michael Kloeg, who alongside wife Rosalie opened the artisan style bakery at the former Dipper's Church at Clareville, said the performance evenings launched about two months ago, soon after the business first opened, and had been going from strength to strength ever since.
He said veteran musicians Miles, Lenny and Eddie kickstart the evening's entertainment each Wednesday night before the stage is thrown open to allcomers.
"They start things off and after that basically anybody who wants to can come up and have a go."
He said guest performers have so far included a husband and wife blues duo, a woman saxophone player, and a saxophone player from the Ruamahanga River Band.
