If you want some excitement this weekend come on down to the local motocross track at the Southern end of the Aerodrome. The local motocross club have an open day on Sunday from 9am-4pm.
There will be action packed racing all day with a celebrity race MORE FM VS THE MOTOCROSS GIRLS. The track has been worked on and is in great condition. Langlands Honda is our major sponsor for the day and have supplied many give aways and spot prizes for competitors.
A number of other local businesses have helped us in regard of sponsorship. Newbolds, Mitre ten, Williams and Kettle, Elders, Caf? Straada, Horse and Hound,Pak n Save, Video Ezy, Caltex, Sterling Sports, Mst Licensing Trust, Mobil Renall Street, Hunting and Fishing and First class hair dressers.
Yes we do need women's prizes as there are girls who race motocross and they compete very well. So if you have a bike bring it down, if you have a camera bring it down. Pack your lunch, Grab your friends, Get your kids and come on down I guarantee you will enjoy the day with us at motocross.
On the competitive stage a few went up to the second round of the Taupo series. Hunter Jacobson rode in the minis and competed with distinction. Jared Thompson finished 7th overall in the 125 class. Callum Moore 2nd 85cc and 8th 125cc and Bjarne Fredeikson finishing second in the 250cc class. As you can see the locals are flying high in motocross. A few of us had a practise day at the local track on Sunday. There were about twenty riders, Its good to know people appreciate and use the track when there is no racing. Just remember members many hands make light work. There is a club meeting tonight, Thursday 29th May 7pm at the Return Services Club Essex Street.
If you have some input or would like to help please come along. Until next week quote from my seven year old (Adam) Keep your eyes open and keep the throttle pumping.
