McLay Boats has released the company's first open-bow runabout, the McLay 550 bowrider.
Managing director Steve McLay said the new model was originally designed and built for the company's North Queensland dealer, Mckay-based Reef Marine, but is now available through all of its New Zealand dealers as well.
"Our 530 and 550 are two of our best-selling models," he said.
"Their size makes them ideal for family boating and, with the addition of the bowrider, that use has become even wider."
The new bowrider features a 5mm hull bottom with 3mm topsides and a fully welded treadplate floor, complete with underfloor buoyancy. The hull has a 17-degree variable deadrise, is rated for outboards from 75hp to 115hp, and comes with a comprehensive three-year warranty.
