Opaki were the surprise packets in the Wairarapa Tennis Association's regional one competition last weekend and they will be aiming for a similar result when they meet Gladstone at Gladstone tomorrow.
The surprisingly comfortable 7-2 win secured by Opaki over Martinborough came through a consistent all-round performance with Stu Wyeth, Chris Davidson, Jon McNab and Katie Wyeth all picking up singles wins and the three doubles going their way as well.
Gladstone, for their part, are coming off a 6-3 loss to Masterton but with the likes of Alistair McWilliam, Angus Preston, Peter Morriss and Sandy McNab leading their charge they have the experience to keep Opaki honest.
The other regional one match tomorrow sees Martinborough hosting Masterton and Martinborough's chances of causing an upset will largely depend on the composition of their side. Their top-ranked man, Tim Pickering, was forced off the court through injury during the defeat to Opaki and his absence wouldn't help their cause against a Masterton side which have won two from two.
