KEY POINTS:
Canterbury University is sending apology letters to 13 students wrongly informed they had missed out on university entrance.
Letters were delivered to the students last week saying they had not achieved university entrance in their National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) level three results.
University director of student administration Linda Roberts said the mistake was due human error and the university was looking to improve system checks to avoid a repetition.
