Only a brief respite from rain for Wellington

A brief glimpse of calmer weather for Wellington is not expected to be around for long.

The MetService has issued a weather watch for Wellington, Kapiti and Horowhenua.

Meteorologist Tom Adams says it's a "benign" day at the moment, with a few showers around this morning.

But a front is moving up and heavy rain could develop this evening.
