KEY POINTS:
A 53-year-old woman was killed in a crash in Invercargill yesterday.
Lenore Jean Carr died when the car she was driving crashed into a tree at the Queens Park and Queens Drive intersection at 3.30am.
Invercargill police Senior Sergeant Olaf Jensen said a 23-year-old woman in a second car was involved in the crash but had not been injured.
Police finished the scene examination yesterday but said the inquiry into the cause of the crash would take some time.
