At least one person has been trapped in a car after a crash at a Christchurch intersection this morning.
The Fire Service was alerted to the incident at 8.22am.
Two crews were sent to the scene, Fire Southern Communications shift manager Brent Dunn said.
"Two cars were involved. In one vehicle there were two [people] still in the vehicle when we arrived. One of those people was trapped in the car so we used the cutting gear to extricate that person."
Mr Dunn said the person was handed over to ambulance personnel after being freed.
