KEY POINTS:
A lucky Lotto player found themselves $13.3 million richer last night after winning the fourth biggest Powerball prize.
The golden ticket was bought from the Bureta Superette, near the suburb of Otumoetai, in Tauranga this week.
The winning prize amount was made up of $12,921,763 from Powerball First Division, and $409,197 from Lotto First Division.
"It's the biggest prize we have had with just one winner in a long time," a Lotto spokesperson said last night.
He added that with many people away on holiday the ticket could have been bought by someone passing through the area.
"But anyone in Tauranga should be checking their glovebox and wallets tonight."
The Bureta Superette also sold a winning second division ticket in October last year, worth $14,203.
The biggest Powerball win was for $17.9 million on a ticket bought in Kaeo, Northland, by an Auckland man in May 2006.
